GSU Wrestling Finishes Greyhound Duals 1-2 Defeating Quincy

Indianapolis, Ind. - Glenville State Wrestling wrapped up a full weekend of wrestling competing at the Greyhound Duals and Greyhound Open hosted by the University of Indianapolis. The Pioneers finished Saturday's duals with a 1-2 record defeating Quincy University and falling to While GSU only had three wrestlers compete in the open, all three picked up wins during the tournament.

Greyhound Duals

The dual against Maryville proved to be a close one, with the Pioneers falling 20-19. Glenville State started the match with two wins jumping out to a 7-0 advantage. While GSU forfeited the 141 weight class Ethan Hardy was able to score for Coach Cotterll's squad with an 8-3 decision. The Pioneers would drop three out of the next four. However, in those three weight classes, Glenville lost they were decided by decision. With GSU only tailing by five with one more weight class they still had an opportunity to come out on top.

Jared Campbell defeated Ryn Herman by tech fall in the third round. With it being all square at 19-19 the dual would be decided by Glenville's forfeit at the 141 weight class.

In the match against Quincy, the Pioneers produced a dominant performance only dropping one width class. Both Gavin Quiocho and Jared Campbell pinned their opponents in the first round finishing the day with a 3-0 record. Sophomores Devin Easton, Tristan Pugh, and Guy Deleonardis all pinned their opponents as well adding a total of 24 points to Glenville State's score.

Greyhound Open

Both Tristan Pugh and Devan Gauldin had superb showings in the open reaching the quarterfinal rounds. In both of their final two matches of the day would be decided by a decision falling by one point
