CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA – Glenville State Wrestling now has a NATIONAL CHAMPION!
Sophomore
Gavin Quiocho made history Saturday night, defeating Chadron State's Quentevious Campbell in the final 4-3. Quiocho advanced to the title match earlier in the day, defeating West Liberty's Vincent Scollo in the semifinals 7-3.
Heavyweight
Jared Campbell also earned All-America honors, finishing as National Runner-up. Campbell defeated Cale Gray from the University of Indianapolis in the semifinals 9-8 in a very exciting match. Campbell was defeated Central Oklahoma's Shawn Streck in the final, 7-2.
Quiocho ended his season 40-5, and Campbell 33-2.
Amazingly, Glenville ended the NCAA National Championships with a Top Ten Finish…in only the third year of the program's resurrection!
