Lady Pioneers set New Season-High in Meet With Davis and Elkins

ELKINS, W.Va. - Glenville State Acrobatics and Tumbling picked up their fourth straight win against the Senators of Davis and Elkins College 261.470-123.825. The Lady pioneers set a new season high with a score of 261.740. GSU has not posited a score of 260 or greater since the 2019 season. Coach Taylor Broadwater's squad was just two points shy of a program record.

Out of the gate Glenville State was on fire recording three or more scores of nine or higher in the Compulsory Event. In the Pyramid Heat, the Lady Pioneers produced a 9.75 and followed it up with a 9.60 in the Toss Heat. GSU Continued to put stellar performances in the next event. In particular, the Seven Element unit of Madisyn Hahn Mackenzie Bath, and Taylor Oldaker scored a 9.70. At the end of the Acro portion of the Glenville had only missed out an a possible 1.15 points.

Before reaching halftime GSU had three solid performances in the Pyramid with the lowest score being a 9.35. Hannah Cunningham, Delany Rosales, Mackenzie Bathe, and Abigail McDermot produced another superb performance in the Open Heat scoring a 9.80. 

Coming out of the half the Lady Pioneers continued to fire on all cylinders posting a 27.65 in the Toss Event. The 450 Salto Toss unit of Ashton Lowe, Saddie Eddins, Mackenzie Bathe, Autumn Spangler, and Savanah Duckworth opened the half with a 9.40. GSU closed out the Toss a 9.20 only missing out a possible 1.05 points for the event. 

The Lady Pioneers were able to finish the meet on a high note setting another season high. GSU finished the Team Event with 93.34 surpassing the season-opening performance.

Glenville State will be back in action Wednesday, April fifth in the Waco Center for senior night against the Bobcats of Frostburg State.
