GSU Acrobatics and Tumbling Fall in Semifinals to Frostburg State

FROSTBURG, Md. - Glenville State Acrobatics and Tumbling fell in the Mountain East Conference Semifinals to the Bobcats of Frostburg State 262.720-248.465. The Lady Pioneers would only trail by five entering the half. While GSU had solid performances in the Tumbling and Team Events, the Bobcats were able to match their performances. 

In the Compulsory Coach Broadwater's squad, had a suburb showing in the Pyramid and Toss heats. Both units posted a score of 9.50 or higher. The Bobcats with a 9.825 in the Toss built a little separation from Glenville. 

While Frostburg increased its advantage over the Lady Pioneers in the Acro portion of the meet, GSU shinned in the Pyramid Event. In all three heats Glenville posted scores of 9.10 or better. The Open Heat squad of Hannah Cunningham, Delaney Rosales, Mackenzie Bathe, and Abigail McDermott, scored a 9.55 before heading into the half. 

Coming out of the half the Lady Pioneers continued to have suburb performances. In the 450 Salto Toss Ashton Lowe, Sadie Eddins, Mackenzie Bathe, Autumn Spangler, and Savannah Duckworth posted a 9.425. GSU had solid performances in the Tumbling portion of the meet but the Bobcats scored a 9.725 in the Open Pass and a 9.525 in the Six Element 

Heading into the final event Glenville trailed Frostburg but still had a chance at a comeback. With the Lady Pioneers having one of their lower Team Event scores, the Bobcats secured the spot in the conference championship.

Glenville State Acrobatics and Tumbling will be back in action tomorrow for the individual event finals. The individual finals begin Saturday, April 15th at 11:00 AM.
