Glenville State Acrobatics Tumbling Wrap up 2023 MEC Championship

FROSTBURG, Md. - Glenville State Acrobatics and Tumbling completed the final day of the 2023 Mountain East Conference Championship. The Lady Pioneers qualified for nine of the 15 event finals.  

The 2023 MEC Individual Event Finals began with the Five-Element Acro. Glenville's Five Element unit of Morgan Thomas, Abigail McDermott, and Savannah Duckworth placed second with a score of 9.075. The Lady Pioneers qualified for all three Acro Events.

In the Inversion and Open Pyramid, Glenville State battled in a competitive field. Ashton Lowe, Caitlyn Looney, Erin Finney, Autumn Spangler, Taylor Oldaker, and Savannah Duckworth finished second in the Inversion just barely defeating Fairmont State by 0.05 points. While GSU finished third in the Open all three squads posted a core of 9.575 or better. 

The Lady Pioneers had their third and final second-place finish in the Duo Tumbling. GSU's Madisyn Hahn and Savanah Duckworth produced a score of 8.325. Hahn and Duckworth's 8.325 narrowly defeated Frostburg State's Duo Tumbling Unit.
