GSU Acrobatics and Tumbling Fall on Senior Night to #6 Frostburg State University

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Acrobatics and Tumbling fell to the Bobcats of Frostburg State 258.670-257.145 on senior night. Both squads would battle until the very end.

From the jump, it was a close meet with both teams only being separated by 0.45 points. The Lady Pioneers were able to match Frostburg's 9.80 in the Toss Heat. During the Acro Event, the Bobcats slightly increased their advantage. Glenville was once again able to keep the margin small with strong performances from Morgan Thomas, Abigail McDermott, and Savannah Duckworth in the Five Element.

Right before halftime, the Pyramid Inversion squad of senior Ashton Lowe, Caitlyn looney, Erin Finney, Autumn Spangler, Abigail McDermott, Taylor Oldaker, and Savanah Duckworth posted a 9.70. The Lady Pioneers were able to shift the momentum in their favor closing out the Pyramid Event with a 9.45 and 9.80. Heading into the half Glenville led 94.100-92.400

In the Toss Event, Frostburg State started to dig into GSU's advantage. The Bobcats in the 450 Salto Toss and Open Toss had only missed out on a combined 0.25 points. However, another solid performance by the Lady Pioneers in the 450 Salto kept Glenville's lead.

During the tumbling portion of the meet, the Bobcats were able to regain the early lead. With both squads only being separated by a few points it would come down to the Team Event. The Lady Pioneers scored 86.34 which almost was three more points than Frostburg. When the points from all six events were tallied Coach Broadwater's squad fell just short almost defeating the nationally ranked Bobcats of Frostburg State.
