BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Glenville State Football edge rusher Jamair Diaz has been crowned Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced today. The MEC Player of the Week is presented by The Health Plan.

Diaz, a sophomore out of Passaic, N.J., lived in the backfield in the Pioneers 24-21 victory at Concord on Saturday. The Milford Academy product finished with seven total tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Diaz sealed the deal for GSU, recording a strip sack and fumble recovery late in the 4th quarter.
