GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Basketball is gearing up for another early season, big-time conference matchup against the University of Charleston in their only game this Thanksgiving week. The Golden Eagles come to Glenville on Tuesday (Nov. 26) for a 5:30 p.m. tip. Glenville State is looking to get back on track in league play after a heartbreaker on Saturday against WVSU.

UC comes into this matchup with a (2-4) overall record and (0-1) in league play with wins against two PSAC teams in Shepherd and West Chester.
Head Coach
Bubby Johnson is in his first season as HC of the Golden Eagles. Johnson was previously an assistant at Presbyterian, helping lead them to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024. Johnson was an assistant with UC from 2020-22 under Tianni Kelly, where in 2021 the Golden Eagles reached the school's first-ever Elite Eight.

Paris Stokes leads the way for Charleston, averaging 10.8 points per game, while Sydney Bolles averages 9.7 and Ksenija Mitric averages 9.2. Underneath, Jamia Nesmith averages 6.2 rebounds a night to lead the team with Harper Annarino chipping in with six boards per game. Kiara Cruz is the leading three-point shooter for UC, knocking down 13 threes and shooting them at over a 40% clip.

GSU is led by Tynasia Bunting, who averages 12.8 points a night along with Dream Cherry (11.0 PPG) and Nwando Okigbo (9.8 PPG). Cherry and Ashlyn Riley have been the team's best three-point shooters as Cherry had made 13 shots from deep and Riley is shooting almost 40% from beyond the arc. Defensively, the Lady Pioneers press has forced teams into many turnovers as Riley has tallied 16 steals and Bunting has 15. Down low, Okigbo is leading GSU in rebounding with 8.5 RPG while Bunting is chipping in with 5.8 RPG.
