GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Nationally ranked Glenville State Wrestling will make a few road trips this week, wrestling a pair of Division 1 programs in West Virginia and Morgan State.

THE OPPONENTS
WEST VIRGINIA
The Mountaineers are ranked 19^th in the country in Division 1 as WVU opened their 2024-25 campaign at the Southeast Open in Virginia. West Virginia captured four individual titles with wins over nationally ranked Virginia Tech and North Carolina. Glenville State and the Mountaineers met last season with WVU winning the dual in Morgantown.

MORGAN STATE
The Bears also opened the 2024-25 season at the Southeast Open in Virginia, tallying three individual top-3 finishes against nationally ranked opponents. Morgan State revived their wrestling program last year after a 24-year hiatus.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
The Pioneers are coming off an exciting GSU Invite on Saturday, winning eight of the 10 weight classes and taking the tournament as a team. Hunter Ross (133), Gavin Quiocho (141), Gabe Onorato (149), Loranzo Rajaonarivelo (157), Gaetano DeLeonardis (165), Hayden Pummel (174), Kyle Homet (184) and Nick Johnson (197) all won their respective classes. Giovanni Diaz (125) was a finalist, finishing 2^nd. GSU is seeking their first-ever win over a D1 program this week.
