GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Former Glenville State Football defensive back and defensive back coach Tony Gibson has been named the Head Football Coach at Marshall. Coach Gibson played all four years of his college ball at Glenville State from 1991-94 where he won two WVIAC Championships.

Gibson has many ties to West Virginia, with his first coaching stint starting at Gilmer County High School in 1995. In 1996, Coach Gibson became the Defensive Backs coach at Glenville State where he spent one season. From 1999-2000, Gibson was the Defensive Coordinator at West Virginia Tech. He would get introduced to the Division 1 coaching scene at West Virginia University as the Defensive Backs Coach from 2001-2007. After leaving West Virginia University for a few years, Gibson found his way back home as the Safeties coach in 2013 at WVU and from 2014-2018, would be promoted to the Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers coach. Now, Coach Gibson makes his homecoming again, this time at Marshall University as Head Coach.
