GLENVILLE, W.Va. – A third quarter run propelled the Glenville State Women's Basketball team to an 87-83 victory over Frostburg State Sunday afternoon inside the Waco Center in Glenville.
The first half was an evenly matched, back and forth 20 minutes of basketball as neither side could distance themselves from the other. GSU would trail by three at halftime but they gained the lead in the third quarter and maintained their lead for the win. As the Lady Pioneers started to build their lead, Stevi Yancy hit a three, Jade Salters had a few layups as well as a three and Ahsha Spencer knocked down multiple shots to lead the GSU attack in the third quarter. With the Lady Pioneers up six going into the fourth quarter, Tynasia Bunting had an and-one and a three-pointer to get the fourth quarter started, however the Bobcats would cut the GSU lead to two after am Ayla Hileman three with just under a minute to go. FSU had free throws to tie the game but only converted one and would have to foul the Lady Pioneers to lengthen the game and GSU iced the game at the free throw line with two made FT's from Kenyah Stubbs and a clutch steal from Stubbs ended the game at 87-83.

Frostburg State
The nation's leading scorer, Emilee Weakley, had 22 to lead FSU while Jade Spinelli had 12 and Sarah Shamdeen had 10. Weakley and Spinelli both had nine rebounds apiece with Jasmine Johnson grabbing 13 to lead the team.
Glenville State
Tynasia Bunting had 19 points to pace the Lady Pioneer offense with six rebounds, two assists and a steal on defense. Dream Cherry had 13 points to surpass 1,000 career points while shooting 3-5 from deep and 2-2 from the free throw stripe with two steals. Kenyah Stubbs had 12 points, three steals, five assists and four rebounds. Jade Salters scored 11 points, had three steals and grabbed five rebounds. Nwando Okigbo had 10 points, 12 rebounds to lead the team while also having three steals and three assists in the win.

GSU will be going on Christmas break and will return to action on New Years Day against Carson Newman in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Tip is set for Noon.
