HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Glenville State Indoor Track & Field teams had new Pioneers mark their name into the all-time lists and break school records on Friday at the Marshall Opener as GSU opened up their 2024-25 indoor campaign.
Glenville State also sent their pole vaulters to Marietta on Saturday for the 'Marietta First Glimpse,' giving the Pioneer vaulters their first taste of action in 2024-25.
NEW SCHOOL RECORDS
Aaron Kupfner recorded a new school record in the 60m hurdles at 8.27.
Dylan Blackshire is now the record holder in the 600m run with a time of 1:27.95.
Nick Pitchford set a new school record in the 3000m run, crossing at 8:51.81, which placed him second in the event and just two seconds behind D1 Marshall's runner.
ALL-TIME LISTS
The Women
Janae Scott moved into second all-time in the weight throw and finished second with a throw of 13.74m.
Macy Hilvers is now fourth all-time and placed fourth at 12.82m.
Addy Cottrill finished fourth and moved into fifth all-time in the shot put (12.31m).
Jordyn Taylor placed first and is now tied for second all-time in the pole vault at 3.05m.
Jenna Barnett's 11:00.22 finish in the 3000m run puts her at #2 all-time in the event.
The Men
Bruce Williams finished at 22.51 in the 200m dash, making him fourth all-time.
Zac Hall had a time of 22.60 in the 200m dash to move him into fifth all-time.
Patrick Reilly crossed at 8:58-even, putting him at #3 all-time in the 3000m run.
Caden Davis is now fourth all-time in the 3000m run with a time of 9:19.88.
NEW PERSONAL BESTS
The Women
Brianna Browning had a personal record in both the weight throw (11.26m) and shot put (10.38m).
Keleigh Chrisman's 10.56m throw in the shot put is a new PR.
Jayden Cover cross at 8.68 in the 60m dash to earn a new personal best.
Ivy Martinez De La Paz (8.08) also earned a new PR in the 60m dash.
Bella Skenes had a personal best in the 60m hurdles at 10.54.
Kamryn Armstrong PR'd in the 3000m run with a time of 11:49.59.
The Men
Adam Burnside PR'd in both the shot put (10.91m) and weight throw (11.81m).
Jacob Bauman set a personal best in the shot put (13.36m) and weight throw (11.20m).
Hunter Goddard threw a PR in the weight throw at 12.05m.
Isaac Smith (6.33m),
Aaron Kupfner (6.09m),
Marc Fernandez-Soler (5.34m) and
Michael Galaviz (5.26m) all PR'd in the long jump.
Kyle McMillion finished with a time of 7.40 to earn a personal best in the 60m dash.
Elijah Armes (10:18.53),
Cameron Maurer (10:32.47) and
Spencer Nolan (10:39.50) all finished with new personal records in the 3000m run.
