THE OPPONENTS
WEST LIBERTY

The Hilltoppers enter (8-16, 5-11 MEC) and have lost their last three games, previously being swept by Frostburg State and Fairmont State last week.

Kyle Cooper is in his seventh season at the helm of the Hilltopper WBB program. Cooper has led the Hilltoppers to three winning seasons and he holds a winning record (98-81) since taking over in 2017-18. Last season marked the second-consecutive 15-win season in conference play. Prior to taking over, Cooper was the lead assistant at WLU under Lynn Ullom for four seasons. He also has experience as a GA at WVU under Mike Carey, Director of WBB Operations at Ohio University and as an assistant at Wheeling.

Corinne Thomas is one of four Hilltoppers averaging double digits, leading WLU at 18.6 PPG. Karly McCutcheon adds 14.8 PPG while Bailee Smith (13.3 PPG) and Jenna Riccardo (11.5 PPG) aid the offense. Riccardo pulls down a team leading 6.9 RPG and Smith dishes out 3.8 APG, which is first on the team.

WHEELING
The Cardinals come in (16-8, 11-6 MEC), losing both games last week to Fairmont State and Frostburg State.

Anna Kowalska is in her second season leading the Wheeling WBB program. In her first season with the Cardinals, WU went (14-15, 12-10 MEC) and received a first round bye in the MEC Tournament before falling to Charleston in the Quarterfinals. Kowalska came to WU following a one-year stint as HC at Life University. Before Life, she was the HC at WVU Tech for three seasons and has experience as an assistant at WVU Tech and Director of Basketball Operations at Kent State.

Shamia Strayhorn (13.5 PPG) and Briarley Rogers (11.6 PPG) lead the Cardinals in scoring. Rachel Wilson grabs 6.6 RPG while averaging 9.0 PPG and Kenzie Dalton is first on the squad with 3.8 APG. WU slows the game down to an extent, only averaging 67.7 PPG as a team.

THE LADY PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE

The Lady Pioneers enter the new week (16-8, 9-7 MEC) after splitting last week's games against Davis & Elkins and West Virginia Wesleyan.

Hya Haywood (16.6 PPG), Lauren Calhoun (15.0 PPG) and Chalon Miles (11.5 PPG) all average double figures for the Lady Pioneers. Dream Cherry adds 9.0 PPG as well. Calhoun is grabbing a 7.6 RPG (4th MEC) and Haywood is dishing out 2.9 APG to lead the team. Haywood is #1 in the MEC in steals at 3.1 SPG.
