Preview: Pioneer Acro & Tumbling Continues MEC Competition with Meet at Notre Dame College

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling is back to MEC competition this week, making the trip to South Euclid, Ohio to take on Notre Dame College tomorrow (Mar. 21). The Pioneers defeated NDC in both meetings last year.

THE OPPONENT 
NOTRE DAME COLLEGE
 
The Falcons come in (4-2, 1-2 MEC) after defeating Trine and Adrian College in a tri-meet on Saturday. Thier lone MEC victory comes against WVSU on Feb. 16. 

Nikki Pizzi is in her second season leading NDC A&T. Prior to taking over the program, she was a five-year member of the Gannon A&T program, earning NCATA All-American status in 2021. Also during her competition days, she competed for multiple NCATA Event Final Championships. 

In their tri-meet with Trine and Adrian College, the Falcons improved every event score besides the tumbling event. Notre Dame's total score of 249.900 was a program record. That was the third time this season that they have topped their program record. 

THE PIONEERS 
GLENVILLE STATE
 
The Pioneers enter (2-3, 1-2 MEC) following a defeat to Kutztown last Wednesday, 256.830-256.060. Before last week's loss, GSU defeated Trine in blowout fashion on the road. 

Glenville has scored 255 or more in every meet this season, recording a season-high and program record of 265.915 against West Liberty earlier in the year. Payten Semenske and Savannah Duckworth performed well against KU after their NCATA weekly recognition, helping the Pioneers score a pair of 9.60's.
