GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Women's Basketball will open the 2024 MEC Tournament as the #7 seed, facing off with 10th seeded Notre Dame College tomorrow (Mar. 6). GSU split with NDC during the regular season, winning on the road but falling to the Falcons at home.

THE OPPONENT
NOTRE DAME COLLEGE
The Falcons finished the regular season (10-18, 6-14 MEC), winning their final two games of the year against West Liberty and Salem.
Lauren Macer is in her second stint as the Head Coach at NDC, previously leading the program from 2017-21. Macer came back to South Euclid after two seasons as an assistant at Purdue Fort-Wayne. She returns to the NDC program that she once led to 23 wins and an MEC Tournament Championship game appearance in 2017-18 and then led them to the title game once again in 2019-20 and the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament berth.
Noel Weathers was selected to the All-MEC Second Team after averaging 12.8 PPG, 9.1 RPG and 2.3 BPG. Three other Falcons are averaging nine or more points per game as Kennadi Harris is nearing doble digits at 9.9 PPG. Lilee Carlson dishes out a team leading 2.6 APG while scoring 9.5 PPG. As a team, NDC is averaging just 67.9 PPG and giving up 75.2 PPG.
THE LADY PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
The Lady Pioneers closed out the 2024 regular season (18-10, 11-9 MEC) following a tough final week, falling to Charleston and Concord.
Hya Haywood was a premiere player for GSU all season long, earning All-MEC First Team after putting up 17.7 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 3.4 SPG and 3.0 APG on the year. Lauren Calhoun was also recognized by the league, garnering All-MEC Second Team with a stat line of 13.7 PPG, 7.4 RPG and 1.1 SPG. Chalon Miles averages 11.5 PPG, 3.5 RPG and 2.6 APG to aid the Lady Pioneers.
