GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling team won big against West Virginia State tonight, defeating WVSU 257.085-160.520 as the Pioneers honored their seniors. GSU and the Yellow Jackets met last week also.
Much like the last meeting between the two squads, it was all Glenville State from the jump. The blue and white outscored WVSU 36.15-14.80 in the Compulsory Event, totaling a 9.70 in the pyramid heat. The Pioneers were able to grow their lead substantially in the following two events, scoring 28.15 in the Acro Event and 29.00 (out of 30) in the Pyramid Event, grabbing a 93.30-57.50 lead at halftime.
Out of the locker room, West Virginia State was much more competitive in the Toss Event, falling to the Pioneers 27.30-22.35 in the event. With a start value of 54.00, GSU was able to put together a score of 50.525, led by an impressive 9.625 aerial pass by Savannah Duckworth. Glenville State dominated the team event 85.96-43.27, securing the lobsided 257.085-160.520 victory.
