FROSTBURG, Md. - The Glenville State Track & Field teams completed the MEC Outdoor Championship earlier today, bringing home an individual championship and five podium finishes. The women placed 6th while the men finished 9th as a team.
THE CHAMPION
Janae Scott won the shot put championship with a throw of 13.17m as Scott also won the shot put title at the MEC Indoor Championship.
THE PODIUM FINISHERS
Aaron Kupfner finished 3rd in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.56.
Christian Hanna had a 3rd place finish in the hammer throw with a throw of 47.01m.
Natalie Barr crossed at 2:19 in the 800m run, placing 3rd.
Janae Scott had a throw of 41.18m in the discus throw, taking the bronze medal at 3rd.
Kimberly Halsey threw 33.55m in the javelin to take 3rd place.
OTHER FINISHES FOR THE PIONEERS
Aaron Kupfner was 6th in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.25.
Marc Fernandez-Soler finished 4th in the 400m hurdles at 56.10.
Natalie Barr placed 5th in the 1500m run, crossing at 4:52. Barr then took 6th inn the 5000m run with a time of 19:19.
Charlie Bauman had a throw of 41.75m in the discus, placing 4th.
MyKell Bowen (37.11m) finished 4th and Brianna Browning (35.04m) was 6th in the discus throw.
Janae Scott placed 4th in the hammer throw with a throw of 41.98m.
Bridgette Knapp finished at 1.50m in the high jump to take 5th.
Michael Clay recorded a throw of 44.55m in the javelin for a 5th place finish.
John Bowen was 4th in the pole vault at 3.80m.
Kimberly Halsey scored points in the pole vault, finihsing in 5th (3.15m).
