GLENVILLE, W.Va – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers turn their attention back to Mountain East conference play after the semester break and a non-conference game against Carson-Newman. The Lady Pioneers will be at home on Wednesday (Jan. 8) at 5:30 for a matchup with the Senators of Davis & Elkins and will be on the road in Buckhannon on Saturday (Jan. 11) against the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan, slated to start at 2 p.m.

2024-25 Season
The Senators have a (1-10) overall record and are (1-4) in the MEC with their lone victory being over Point Park.
Head Coach
Donna Carr is in her third season as HC of the D&E Women's Basketball program. Carr won two games in 2023-24 and seven games during her first season in 2022-23. She came to D&E following a two-year stint at Hillsborough CC in Tampa, Fla.

D&E is led by Jahniya Marion, as she averages 8.5 PPG while grabbing 3.2 RPG. Josiany Canales averages 7.6 points per game and leads the team in rebounding with 5.6 per game. Jocelyn Gagnon is scoring 6.4 PPG and shooting 35% from three-point range.
WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
2024-25 Season
WVWC is (9-1) currently with a (5-0) conference mark, only losing to Shepherd by three earlier in the season. The Bobcats currently sit atop the MEC standings and will square off with Concord on Wednesday before hosting the Lady Pioneers this weekend.
Head Coach
Brett Vincent is in his fourth season leading the WVWC Women's Basketball program. The Bobcats have upped their win total every season under Vincent, winning their most games under his tutelage last year with 10 victories. Vincent previously coached at Chowan for nine seasons as the men's head coach, holding the most wins all-time as a HC.

Emma Witt is leading the Bobcats with 19 PPG while also leading the team in rebounding with six per game. Ellie Janseen is averaging 16 PPG and shooting 85% from the field while Sydney Baird is averaging just over 15 points while shooting 35% from three.

GSU is led by freshman Nwando Okigbo, as she is averaging almost 12 points per game, nine rebounds and has gathered 25 steals and six blocks on the season. Dream Cherry is averaging over 11 points a night, while being the team's leading three-point shooter with 27 made threes on the year and has 24 steals. Freshman Kenyah Stubbs is shooting 47% from the field and scoring nine points a game while dishing out a team-high 31 total assists. Ashlyn Riley is shooting 38% from beyond the arc as a freshman, adding 23 steals and nine blocks during her rookie campaign.
