Preview: Women's Hoops to Begin Conference Play with Charleston & WVSU

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Basketball is set to begin conference play this week with their home opener coming at the end of the week. Glenville State will be on the road at Charleston on Wednesday (Dec. 2) at 5:30 p.m. and at the Waco Center against West Virginia State on Saturday (Dec. 6) at 2 p.m.

THE OPPONENTS
CHARLESTON
2025-26 Season
The Golden Eagles are (2-3) overall and have dropped their last two games against Thomas More and Edinboro. UC opened the season with a common opponent, beating Slippery Rock, 64-52.

Paris Stokes leads the team in scoring at 17 a game and is shooting over 40% from beyond the arc while Harper Annarino averages just under eight points per game and leads the team in rebounding with eight per contest. Other notables are Ksenija Mitric at seven points per game and Livia O'Dea is adding nearly six points at 5.8 per game.

WEST VIRGINIA STATE
2025-26 Season
The Yellow Jackets are (2-3) overall and have a meeting with Concord on Wednesday before coming to Glenville.

Baylee Goins leads the team in scoring with 15 points per game while shooting 44% from three-point range. Key piece Imani Hickman averages over 13 points and over six rebounds per game. Ahjanae Young and Lillian Jackson both average double figures per contest, and Latisha Parris is scoring just under ten to round out the scoring for the Yellow Jackets.

2025-26 Season
Sitting at (3-1) on the year, the Lady Pioneers are looking to get back on the right track after falling in their last outing on the road at Bluefield State.

Nwando Okigbo is averaging a double-double early in the year with 13 points and over 11 rebounds per game. Salem transfer Carine Pinkney is the other double figure scorer, averaging over 12 points per game while also being tied for the team lead in assists with 10 total. Ashlyn Riley and Marshall import Jayda Allie are both averaging just over nine points per game, and both are the team's leading three-point shooters. Keanti Thompson is scoring just under nine points, Payton James is scoring over six points and Stevi Yancy is averaging six points per game for the Lady Pioneers.
