WRESTLING REPEATS AS MEC CHAMPIONS!

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - The No. 2 Glenville State Wrestling team repeated as Mountain East Conference Champions and six individuals captured MEC Championships earlier today! Four other Pioneers took 2nd place in their respective weight classes.

Glenville State qualified a wrestler in all 10 championship matches, topping last year when the Pioneers qualified nine. Colton Drousias got GSU started and won his first conference championship when he defeated West Liberty's Logan Davis at 125 pounds. Hunter Ross (133), Gavin Quiocho (141) and Caleb Brooks (149) all placed 2nd before Gaetano DeLeonardis won his second-consecutive title at 157 pounds with a victory over John D'Amico from Frostburg State. Wiley Houser (165) and Hayden Pummel (174) continued the Pioneers success with their first-ever conference titles.

Kyle Homet fell to one of the best wrestlers in Mountain East Conference history, Ty McGeary, of West Liberty in the 184-pound final. Nick Johnson (197) and Isaiha Casto (HWT) sealed the deal for the Pioneers second-consecutive conference championship as the bruisers both captured individual MEC titles.
