BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling athletes
Savannah Duckworth and
Payten Semenske swept the weekly Mountain East Conference awards, the league announced today. The weekly awards are presented by
The Health Plan.
Duckworth was awarded MEC Athlete of the Week as the star top & tumbler helped the Pioneers score 29 of 30 possible points in the Pyramid Event, including a 9.85 in the open pyramid. The Worthington, W.Va. native competed in all six events which saw GSU produce scores of 8.8 or higher in 10 heats. The junior also has the highest start values of anyone on the team, including a 9.9 in the SV toss.
Semenske earned MEC Specialist of the Week, spearheading the Open Pyramid event as a mid for all three heats. The Pioneers have a 10 start value for all three heats and Semenske helped GSU to a 9.65 in heat one, 9.5 in heat two and 9.85 in heat three.
