Preview: Acrobatics & Tumbling Welcomes #9 Frostburg State & Wheeling

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling is set to host their first meet of the season against the #9 Frostburg State Bobcats and Wheeling on Wednesday (Feb. 19) for a tri-meet at the Waco Center.

THE OPPONENTS
FROSTBURG STATE
2025 Season
The Bobcats enter (2-0, 2-0 MEC) after defeating both Kutztown and West Virginia State in a tri-meet on Sunday. The Bobcats put up a score of 231.465 in the meet.

Head Coach
Katie Amedure is in her fifth season as the Head Coach of the Frostburg States Acro & Tumbling program. Amedure has led the Bobcats to win back-to-back MEC titles and has a career record of (25-15).

Quick Look at The Bobcats
In their first meet of the season the Bobcats had their strongest performances in the Acro, Pyramid and Toss event. Their weakest performances were in the Tumbling and Team events, but their score was high enough to earn two victories.

WHEELING
2025 Season

The Cardinals enter (0-2, 0-2 MEC) after losing to both West Liberty and Fairmont State to start the season. The Cardinals are currently averaging a score of 161.348 per meet.

Head Coach
Alexis Kelly enters her first season as the Head Coach of Wheeling's Acro and Tumbling program. Last season, Kelly was the Assistant Coach at Emmanuel University where she helped them to a record of (5-5, 4-4 CC). This record is the best record in the history of Acro and Tumbling at Emmanuel.

Quick Look at The Cardinals
This is Wheeling's first season with an Acro and Tumbling program. The Cardinals have seen improvements from their first meet to their most recent against Fairmont State. They have seen an increase in their start values and scored high in the Compulsory event and Acro event.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2025 Season
The Pioneers enter (1-1, 1-1 MEC) after opening the season in a tri-meet that saw them beat West Liberty and lose to #6 Fairmont Sate. The Pioneers put up a score of 244.560 in the meet.

Quick Look at The Pioneers
In their first meet of the season, the Pioneers had strong performances in Acro, Pyramid and Toss events while having the highest score of the meet with a 9.85 in open pyramid. Savannah Duckworth (Athlete) and Payten Semenske (Specialist) swept the MEC weekly awards for their performances as well. Semenske also earned NCATA Honorable Mention Specialist of the Week and Aubrey Ward was the NCATA Honorable Mention Freshman of the Week.
