WEST LIBERTY
2024-25 Season
The Hilltoppers come in (21-3, 15-2 MEC) with a nine-game winning streak. This record has propelled them to be ranked #8 in the nation. In their last matchup against the Pioneers in the Waco Center, WLU took the 103-96 win. West Liberty currently holds a one-game lead for first place in the MEC.
Head Coach
Ben Howlett is in his eighth season as the Head Coach of the West Liberty Men's Basketball program. Last season, Coach Howlett led the Hilltoppers to a (26-7, 17-3 MEC) record. The Hill Toppers came up short in the Mountain East Championship game and managed to make it to the second round of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament.

The Hilltoppers have six players averaging double digits with Kyler D'Augustino, who is averaging 17 points per game, leading the way. Rebounding looks like a team effort as four Hilltoppers are averaging four rebounds each. Finley Woodward and Lanyc Shuler lead WLU in assists with four assists apiece. On defense, West Liberty is averaging ten steals and three blocks a game as a team.
WHEELING
2024-25 Season
The Cardinals are (10-14, 5-11 MEC) entering the week. Earlier in the season when the Pioneers and Cardinals met, GSU took a convincing victory, 88-72. The Cardinals are currently ranked 8th amongst other MEC teams.
Head Coach
Chis Richardson is in his fifth season as the Head Coach of the Wheeling Men's Basketball program. Through his first four seasons of coaching at Wheeling, Coach Richardson has a record of 32-73 and 23-57 conference record. Last season was his best season as the Cardinals went (10-18, 6-14 MEC).

This season, the Cardinals are led by guard Sean Ealy, who is averaging 17 points, three assists and a steal a game. Alex Smith leads the team on the boards with eight rebounds per game. Ealy and Smith are both leading the team in assists with three per game. On defense, Wheeling averaging seven steals and three blocks per game as a team.
THE PIONEERS

2024-25 Season
The Pioneers have been on a hot streak as of late and have propelled themselves to a (14-10, 8-8 MEC) record. Their play has also helped them climb to 5th in the MEC standings.

The Pioneers are led this season by Devin Collins, who is averaging 16 points, five rebounds and one assist per game. Ammar Maxwell continues to make his case for MEC Freshman of the Year as he is averaging 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal per game. Prince Mosengo has been big on the boards this season for the Pioneers, averaging nine rebounds per game. Three Pioneers led the team in assists, averaging two dishes per game. GSU is averaging six steals and three blocks per game as a team.
