GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Basketball is looking to bounce back after a loss in their last performance. GSU is scheduled for two games this week, first a road matchup with West Liberty on Wednesday evening (Feb. 19) and then the Lady Pioneers return home to host Wheeling on Saturday (Feb. 22) for Senior Day. Tip is set for 1 p.m. inside the Waco Canter.

WEST LIBERTY
2024-25 Season
The Hilltoppers are currently (8-16) with a (6-11) mark in league play. WLU have lost three in a row, last winning on Feb. 5 against Davis & Elkins.
Head Coach
Kyle Cooper is in his eighth season as the leader of the WLU Women's Basketball program. Cooper has won over 100 games on the Hilltop and led the Hilltoppers to the NCAA Tournament in 2019. Cooper is a former assistant at West Liberty, where he helped the program capture an MEC Championship and earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Bailee Smith leads the team with 15.1 points per game while Karli Anker averages 13.6 PPG and Jenna Riccardo averages 12.5 PPG. Riccardo is also the team's leading rebounder with 7.2 per game.
WHEELING
2024-25 Season
The Cardinals are currently (13-11) overall with a (9-7 MEC) record and are coming off a loss to Frostburg State.
Head Coach
Anna Kowalska is in her third season as Head Coach of the Wheeling Women's Basketball program. Kowalska led the Cardinals to a sixth-place finish and fifth-place finish in the MEC during her first two seasons with the program, winning 18 games in 2023-24 and 14 games in 2022-23.

Rachel Wilson leads the team in scoring with 12 points per game while Kristel Rattasepp is the only other scorer in double figures with 10.3 per game. Bryana Henderson chips in with 9.4 a game as well. Wilson also leads the team in rebounding as she averages 9.4 boards.

2024-25 Season
Coming off a loss against West Virginia Wesleyan in their lost outing, the Lady Pioneers are (15-9) overall and (9-7) in Mountain East play.

Tynasia Bunting leads the team in scoring with 14.7 points per game, Nwando Okigbo averages 12.4 points while leading the team in rebounding with 10.7 RPG. Dream Cherry averages 11.7 points and has knocked down 55 threes on the year. Jade Salters averages eight points per game and leads the team in steals with 48. True freshmen Ashlyn Riley and Kenyah stubbs have both been steady contributors, scoring 6.9 and 6.7 points per night, respectively.
