WHEELING, W.Va. – The Pioneer Men's Basketball team had their season come to an end last night (Mar. 8) in their loss to second-seeded Fairmont State in the MEC Tournament Semifinals, 75-62.
In the first half, the Pioneers would get things started with a layup from Devin Collins. The Falcons answered back to this with a 7-0 run to give them the advantage. Glenville State kept the game close and would eventually tie the game at the five-minute mark. From there, the Falcons started to gain an edge on the Pioneers as they went into the half up six points.
In the second half, the Falcons began the half off with a three to increase their lead to nine points. The Pioneers, despite being down in the game, showed some fight and wen on a quick 5-0 run to cut their deficit to four points. This momentum allowed the Pioneers to keep the game close until the eight-minute mark when the Falcons would go on a 17-5 run to give them a fourteen-point lead. The lead proved to be too much to overcome late as the Pioneers fell, 75-62.

The Falcons were led in scoring by Rudy Fitzgibbons, who had 17 points. Both David Jolinder and Tommy Williams were one rebound shy of a double-double as they both had 15 points and nine rebounds. Andre Harris was big for the Falcons on defense as he led the team in steals with three in the victory.
Glenville State
Freshmen Elijah Redfern and Ammar Maxwell capped off a terrific start to their collegiate careers as Redfern led the team in scoring with 19 points while Maxwell contributed 17 points, three rebounds and three steals. Prince Mosengo finished his double-digit scoring night with 13 points, six rebounds and one block in the loss.
