BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling had four athletes earn All-MEC honors today, the league announced. MEC Specialist of the Year Payten Semenske was accompanied by Megan Bankes and Savannah Duckworth on the All-MEC First Team while Emilia Underwood was placed on the All-MEC Second Team.
Semenske, who hails from Statesville, N.C., was tabbed MEC Specialist of the Year after two MEC Specialist of the Week honors and two NCATA Specialist of the Week Honorable Mention nods during the 2025 season. Semenske was an All-MEC First Team selection in 2024 as well. The South Iredell HS product has been key for the 13th ranked and (7-2, 5-1 MEC) Pioneers this season, serving as the base and mid for many of GSU's highest scoring events, including the pyramid where the Pioneers tallied their first 10.0 since the 2019 season.
Duckworth, a now three-time All-MEC First Team selection, earned the recognition after a stellar junior campaign. The Worthington, W.Va. native was named MEC Athlete of the Week twice and had NCATA Honorable Mention Athlete & Specialist of the Week honors during the season as well. Duckworth has multiple performances of scores being 9.0 or higher 10 times in a single meet, as well as 9.9s or better.
Bankes, a senior out of Bowmanstown, Pa., was placed on the All-MEC First Team for the first time in her four-year career. The Palmerton Area HS product had many highlight successes during her senior campaign, including the 10.0 in the inversion pyramid. She has been a multi-purpose athlete for head coach Taylor Broadwater, moving around as a base, tosser and tumbler across pyramid, acro and tumbling events.
Underwood, who now finds herself on the All-MEC Second Team for the second-consecutive season, was another vital piece to the Pioneers historic regular season. The junior out of Bridgeport, W.Va. secured the blue and white points in a multitude of ways, shifting around as a base and a tumbler, competing in a plethora of events.Â
