Acro & Tumbling Records Season-High Score on Senior Day

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling team celebrated their seniors today and walked away with the win after beating Bluefield State, 261.190-184.100. The 13th nationally ranked Pioneers increase their record to (7-2, 5-1 MEC) before the postseason begins.

The first event of the evening was the Compulsory Event. The Big Blue started this event off and earned a total score of 24.45 while the Pioneers would go next and earn a total score of 36.45 to go up by double digits after the first event.

In the Acro Event, the Pioneers pulled away from the Big Blue even more after scoring a season-high of 28.80, while the Big Blue would put up a score of 16.60.

The last event before halftime was the Pyramid Event. Bluefield State produced a score of 23.05 with Glenville State, who have excelled in this event all year, tied their season-high of 29.35 in the event to increase their lead on the Big Blue.

The Toss Event kicked off the second half of the meet. In this event, the Pioneers looked to bury BSU even more as they would be awarded a 27.40 total event score while the Big Blue received a 19.55.

Next up was the Tumbling Event, which saw Glenville State put up yet another season-high, this time in tumbling with a score of 49.850. The Big Blue were outscored by over 10 points with a score of 39.650.

The last event of the evening was Team Event. In this event, the Pioneers produced another season-high, scoring 89.34 out of their 97.88 start value. The Big Blue scored 60.80 allowing, the Pioneers to win their fourth-straight meet.

The Pioneers will turn their focus to the Mountain East Conference Tournament on Friday (Apr. 11) and Saturday (Apr. 12).
