Head Coach
Joe Battaglia will be making his head coaching debut on Saturday for the Bald Eagles after being named the head man in April. He succeeds Don Mulrooney, who left to become the defensive coordinator at Brown (DI) in the winter. Battaglia joined the staff three years prior to becoming HC as the program's offensive coordinator. He's had successful stops at Coastal Carolina, Temple and Georgia Tech as well.
Â
Bald Eagles' Offense
The Harlon Hill Award nominee Jackson Ostrowsky is back behind center for the Bald Eagles after throwing for 3,203 yards and 27 touchdowns on 237 completions in 2024. He had over 300 passing yards four times, including a career-high 470 yards at Shepherd. Against GSU, he threw for 201 yards on 15-of-26 passing with two touchdowns and an interception. LHU also returns their leading rusher in Damir Green, who carried the ball 99 times for 442 yards and four scores last season.
Â
At receiver, it is a new core for Ostrowsky. Concord transfer Jake Roberts headlines the group after recording 442 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 32 receptions for the Mountain Lions in '24. The offensive line has some youth but size is not a question for Lock Haven. All five starters stand above 6-4 but one as well as four of the five are over 300 pounds.
Â
Bald Eagles' Defense
The Bald Eagles' second-leading tackler from a year ago will be a spotlight for the defense as Rocco Daugherty notched 71 tackles. 6.5 TFLs and four interceptions. Markel Morgan had a solid '24 and is back manning the backend of the defense as the senior had 52 tackles. It's a new look in the trenches with transfers but Rhys McDonald is a familiar name for LHU after a 15-tackle season.
Â
Davien Vernon strengthens the linebacker group following 43 tackles and two interceptions posted last season for the Bald Eagles. Other than Morgan in the secondary, the remaining four projected starters are sophomores or younger.
Â
Bald Eagles' Special Teams
It's a new kickoff kicker, field goal kicker and punter for LHU in the 2025 season after Tony Nicassio moved on from all duties. Freshmen Noah Shurina and Caden Bauer will takeover at kicker while Bryant graduate transfer Jimmy O'Brien will be the new Bald Eagle punter.
