BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling has been picked 2
nd in the Mountain East Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, the league announced today.
The Pioneers were picked just behind defending league champion, Fairmont State, who received 36 total points and six first-place votes. Glenville State received 31 points and one first-place vote while Frostburg State (3
rd, 26 points), West Liberty (4
th, 19 points), Kutztown (5
th, 16 points), Wheeling (6
th, 12 points) and West Virginia State (7
th, seven points) rounded out the poll.
Glenville State is coming off of an historic 2025 campaign, where head coach
Taylor Broadwater led GSU to a school-record eight overall wins and five conference victories. The (8-3, 5-1 MEC) Pioneers advanced to the MEC Tournament Championship and captured four MEC Event Championships.
Aubrey Ward was named NCATA DII Freshman of the Year and
Savannah Duckworth earned NCATA All-American status. In addition, three Pioneers were All-MEC First Team and one landed on the All-MEC Second Team.
Glenville State opens the 2026 season on February 12
th in a tri-meet against Bluefield State and Wheeling. Action will begin at 6 p.m. inside the Waco Center.
