GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State athletes Solares Solano, Natalie Barr and Fermin Perez Santandrea have been named GoMart Pioneers of the Week, the GSU Athletic Department announced.

Solano helped lead the Pioneer women's soccer team to a (2-0) week with wins over Davis & Elkins and Wheeling, as the sophomore from San Diego, Calif. netted two goals. Solano scored one goal in each game and had four points for the week.

Barr had an outstanding race on Saturday for the Pioneer cross country team, finishing 3rd out of 240 runners in the Carnegie Mellon Invite. Barr, a senior from Canvas, W.Va., finished ahead of four Division I athletes and all 35 Mountain East Conference runners in the meet. Her time of 17:34 was also a school record.

Perez Santandrea, who just won Mountain East Conference Golfer of the Year, placed first at the MEC Championship. The junior out of Argentina shot (-7) to dominate all three rounds of the tournament.
