GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Wrestling's
Colton Drousias,
Nick Johnson and
Colby Whitehill all won Mountain East Conference championships at Saturday's (Jan. 31) MEC Championship inside the Waco Center. In addition, five more Pioneers earned All-Conference as nine of 10 grapplers were honored by the league.
As a team, Glenville State finished second while West Liberty won their first league title since 2023 with 150 total points. The Pioneers captured individual titles at 125, 197 and 285 pounds with Drousias, Johnson and Whitehill while
Ethan Hardy (141),
Jimmie Bailes (157),
Ethan Lopez (174) and
Max Borton (184) were All-MEC Second Team.
Moses Eads (149) and
Connor Holm (165) won their third-place matches, earning All-MEC Honorable Mention.
GSU tied with the Hilltoppers for the most wrestlers in the MEC finals with seven each while Glenville State had the second most All-Conference honorees at nine.
