Lady Pioneers Flirt with Century Mark in Convincing Win Over Davis & Elkins

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer Basketball team won their seventh in a row with a rout of Davis and Elkins on Wednesday evening, 99-57, inside the Waco Center. With the victory, GSU improved to (19-3, 13-2 MEC) and now have a two-game lead for first place in the Mountain East Conference.

1st Half
Glenville State scored 54 points in the first 20 minutes to race out to a big lead. Khalia Bryant began the scoring with a good jump shot for two, while Nylah Davis and Jayda Allie connected on a three in the first quarter to make the score 27-13 after one. In the second, the Lady Pioneer defense flexed their muscle, only allowing 11 points. The Lady Pioneers only allowed 33 points in the second half as they were able to put the game away. Payton James crashed the offensive glass and scored on a putback with three triples in a row later in the third quarter to extend the Lady Pioneer lead even further.
