ASHLAND, Ohio – The No. 9 Glenville State Wrestling team picked up a big win over No. 10 Ashland, 24-13, and dominated Thomas More, 48-6, to secure their 16
th and 17
th dual victories of the season in Ohio today (Feb. 15).
The Pioneers used five consecutive wins from 133 to 165 pounds and a strong finish by
Nick Johnson and
Colby Whitehill to defeat No. 10 Ashland, including impressive wins from
Gabe Onorato and
Leo Hess III. Onorato beat Hayden Kuhn, who is the nation's #3 wrestler, by decision at 149 pounds while Hess, who joined the roster at the mid-year, beat returning All-American Nate Barrett by decision at 165 pounds.
Nine Pioneers picked up wins in the dual with Thomas More, as TMU scored points due to a GSU forfeit at 141 pounds as the Pioneers continue to strategically wrestle to stay healthy going into regionals at the end of the month.
