GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling will welcome Kutztown and West Virginia State to the Waco Center Saturday (Feb. 21) for their second home tri-meet of the 2026 season.

THE OPPONENTS
KUTZTOWN
The Golden Bears opened their season with a strong performance against defending MEC Champion, No. 6 Fairmont State, that ultimately ended in a loss. While they were held to a 94.000-84.250 lead at the break, the Falcons stretched their advantage to take the 266.755-218.055 victory in the Golden Bears first meet of the season. In their last matchup, the Pioneers beat the Golden Bears in a back-and-forth battle, winning 237.540-233.595 on the road.
WEST VIRGINIA STATE
The Yellow Jackets opened their third Acro & Tumbling season with a tri-meet against Fairmont State and West Liberty that ended with two losses. (Fairmont 260.475, West Liberty 222.290, West Virginia State 86.050)
Glenville State University alumna and former A&T athlete, Gillian Cooper, started the 2026 season as the newest head coach of the Yellow Jackets. West Virginia State and Glenville State last met in March 2025, ending in a big win for the Pioneers, with a final score of 250.865-207.040.
THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
The Pioneers started their season on February 12 with a convincing win over both Bluefield State and Wheeling in a tri-meet. The Pioneers delivered an impressive performance, scoring a 9.00 or higher in over ten heats, earning their highest score of 9.775 in the Tumbling Open Pass. Senior Delaney Rosales played a key role, earning MEC Specialist of the Week, and helping contribute to the scores of 9.65, 9.55 and a 9.7 in the pyramid event.
