INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The ninth-ranked Glenville State Wrestling team picked up a win over Quincy but fell to Maryville and No. 8 McKendree at the Greyhound Duals in Indianapolis Saturday (Feb. 7) evening.
The Pioneers defeated Quincy, 29-9, as seven Pioneers took care of business in their match, including a pinfall victory from
Nick Johnson at 285 pounds. GSU took an early 7-3 lead over Maryville but a fall victory and major decision put the Pioneers behind, however,
Connor Holm,
Max Borton and Johnson put the Pioneers back in it. Glenville State forfeited the 285-pound bout, with Maryville taking the 22-16 win.
In the final match of the evening, head coach
Dylan Cottrell mixed the lineup with some reserves as the nation's eighth-ranked McKendree won decisively, 39-6.
Colton Drousias and
Ethan Hardy both scored points for the blue and white, winning by decision.
