3/11/2026 12:45:00 PM

ERIE, Pa. – The No. 12 Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling team suffered their first loss of the 2026 campaign last night, falling to No. 9 Gannon in Erie, 268.495-255.490. The Pioneers dropped to (5-1) overall on the year.

GSU had a strong start in the first three heats of the compulsory event, scoring a 9.35, 9.75 and 9.75 but their 7.850 in the tumbling head pushed them slightly behind the Golden Knights, 37.20-36.20. GSU stayed consistent in the acro event, producing two 9.60s and a 9.25. Gannon was then able to build on their lead before halftime in the pyramid event, outscoring the Pioneers, 29.40-28.90, to go up 95.05-94.05 at the intermission.

In the toss event, the Pioneers once again scored in 9s in all three heats, but Gannon logged scores of 9.30 or better to barely take the edge in the event, 28.30-28.00. GU started to really build their advantage in the tumbling event, scoring nearly two more points in the event as Gannon had a three-point lead heading into the team event. The final event of the night is where the Golden Knights pulled away, scoring a 91.520 while GSU had an 81.740, as Gannon edged the Pioneers and grabbed the nationally ranked win, 268.495-255.490.
