THE OPPONENT
FAIRMONT STATE
Fairmont State enters the meet coming off an impressive 267.140-260.595 victory over No. 7 Duquesne. The No. 6 Falcons held a narrow advantage at halftime before pulling away in the second half, highlighted by an overall score of 54.650 in the tumbling event and an 89.340 in the team event to secure the win. The top 10 matchup victory improved the Flacons record to (5-0) for the season.

A key contributor for the Falcons has been senior top/tumbler Taryn Laurence, who was recently named MEC Athlete of the Week for the third time this season. Laurence competed in 12 heats and the team event in Fairmont's last meet, recording seven scores of 9.55 or higher, including two 9.90s. Her contributions in each event helped Fairmont record a season-high score in the meet.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
Glenville State enters the meet with a (5-1) record following their first loss of the 2026 campaign, a 268.495-255.490 defeat to No. 9 Gannon.

The Pioneers opened that meet with a strong showing in the compulsory event, posting scores of 9.35, 9.75, and 9.75 in the first three heats. GSU continued to show consistency in the acro event with two scores of 9.60 and a 9.25, keeping the meet within a point (95.05-94.05) heading into halftime. After the break, Glenville continued with their solid scores in the toss event, recording 9s across all three heats. However, Gannon was able to gradually extend its lead in the tumbling and team events, outscoring the Pioneers 91.520-81.740 in the final event to secure the win.

Despite the setback, the Pioneers demonstrated consistency and will look to secure a win against ranked Fairmont State on their home floor this weekend.
