FROSTBURG, Md. – The Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling team secured a close victory Thursday (Mar. 5) evening in their first away meet, defeating a strong Frostburg State team, 242.285-237.825. With the win, the Pioneers improved their record to (5-0, 4-0 MEC).

The meet began with the Compulsory Event, which consists of four heats: Acro, Pyramid, Toss, and Tumbling. The teams split the heats evenly, with Glenville State taking the Acro and Tumbling while Frostburg State claimed the Pyramid and Toss. Despite the split, the Pioneers finished the event with a small advantage, leading 34.40-34.00. Glenville continued to hold the edge in the Acro Event. The Pioneers earned strong scores of 9.60 in the 5-Element heat and 9.55 in the 7-Element heat to win two of the three heats. Frostburg State responded by taking the 6-Element heat, but Glenville maintained a narrow lead overall at 62.20-61.20.

In the Pyramid Event, the Pioneers extended their lead by winning all three heats. Their impressive performances included a 9.95 in the Inversion heat and a 9.90 in the Open heat. Although the Bobcats stayed close, Glenville went into halftime ahead 91.40-89.50.

The second half began with the Toss Event. Glenville State opened with a strong 9.60 in the 450 Salto heat, which helped them secure the event. The teams matched each other in the remaining heats, tying in both the Synchronized and Open with scores of 8.50 and 8.75. The Tumbling Event followed and featured competitive performances from both teams. The Pioneers claimed the duo pass while Frostburg State took the trio pass, and the quad pass ended in a tie. Glenville pulled away in the solo passes, posting scores of at least 9.20 in each heat to win the event 49.775-45.875.

The meet concluded with the Team Event. Frostburg State narrowly won the event with a score of 76.50 compared to Glenville's 74.26. However, the Pioneers' earlier performances were enough to hold onto the overall lead and secure the 242.285-237.825 victory.
