GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling will travel to Fairmont this Saturday (Apr. 11) to face the Frostburg State Bobcats in their second meet-up this season, but this time for MEC Championship Semifinals. Number-one seeded Fairmont State will take on fourth-seeded Kutztown in the 1 p.m. matchup before the Pioneers and Bobcats square off at 4 p.m.

THE OPPONENT
FROSTBURG STATE
The Bobcats ended their regular season with a record of (6-2, 4-2 MEC) following a split in their tri-meet against No. 4 Fairmont State and Wheeling. Frostburg delivered a strong performance in the early events, ending in second in the Compulsory Event, then winning the Acro Event with a score of 28.50 while also posting back-to-back 9.80s in the Pyramid Event to take a halftime lead. Despite being overtaken by Fairmont in the Toss and Tumbling events, the Bobcats finished with a total score of 246.525, highlighted by consistent scores above 9.0 across multiple heats. Frostburg State qualified for and will participate in 11 of 15 MEC Event Finals on Sunday, April 12.
THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
The Pioneers enter the meet with a record of (6-2, 5-1 MEC) following a dominant 260.460–236.075 road victory over West Liberty in their regular season finale. Glenville State controlled the meet from the start, sweeping the Compulsory Event and continuing their momentum with strong showings in Acro and Pyramid, including a meet-high 9.85 in the Open Pyramid heat. The Pioneers remained consistent throughout, winning multiple events and closing with an 86.260 in the Team Event to secure the convincing win.
The last meeting between the Pioneers and the Bobcats, was earlier this season, where Glenville State earned a narrow 242.285–237.815 victory on the road. The Pioneers held a slight edge throughout the meet, highlighted by a dominant Pyramid Event that included a 9.95 in the Inversion heat and a 9.90 in the Open. Despite Frostburg closing strong with a win in the Team Event, Glenville's consistency across the earlier events proved enough to secure the five-point win. The Pioneers will look to repeat these results on Saturday.
