Former Consensus All-American, MEC Offensive Player of the Year Jarod Bowie Signs with GSU Football

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Football head coach Jake Casteel has announced the signing of former consensus All-American and MEC Offensive Player of the Year Jarod Bowie for the 2026 season. Bowie joins the Pioneers after spending the 2025 season at West Virginia.

Biography
  • Transfer from West Virginia University, a D1 FBS member of the Big 12 Conference
  • 5-foot-9, 165-pound wide receiver out of Martinsburg, W.Va.
  • Started career at Concord before transferring to Jacksonville State and WVU
  • Played in 43 career games with Mountaineers, Gamecocks and Mountain Lions, totaling 159 receptions, 2,547 yards, 21 touchdowns
  • Former consensus First Team All-American, Harlon Hill Trophy finalist and MEC Offensive Player of the Year
West Virginia (2025) - R-Sr.
  • Appeared in 10 games for the Mountaineers
  • Caught nine passes for 82 yards
  • Had five rushing attempts for 83 yards
  • Finished with 68 rushing yards versus Utah
  • Logged three catches for 39 yards against TCU
  • Season-high four catches for 34 yards at Arizona State
Jacksonville State (2024) - R-Jr.
  • Played in all 14 games for the Gamecocks
  • Recorded 13 receptions for 207 yards on the year
  • Opened redshirt junior season with two catches for 29 yards against Coastal Carolina
  • Caught four passes for 46 yards versus Southern Miss
  • At Lousiana Tech, he had two catches for 20 yards
  • Finished with a season-high 105 receiving yards on four catches against Ohio in the StaffDNA Cure Bowl
Jacksonville State (2023) - R-So.
  • Appeared in three games in first season with Jax State
  • Made JSU debut against UTEP
  • Also appeared in contests versus East Tennessee State and Coastal Carolina
Concord (2022) - R-Fr.
  • Started all 11 games for the Mountain Lions
  • Consensus First Team All-American (AFCA, AP, CCA)
  • Don Hansen Honorable Mention All-American
  • MEC Offensive Player of the Year

  • Led Division II in receptions (102), receiving yards (1,773), receptions per game (9.3) and receiving yards per game (161.2)
  • Also caught 18 touchdown passes
  • Caught 16 passes for 186 yards and two TDs at West Liberty
  • Made 15 grabs for 229 yards and three touchdowns against Alderson Broaddus
  • Logged a career-high 259 receiving yards and three touchdowns on nine catches versus Wheeling
  • First 200-yard receiving game of the season came at West Virginia Wesleyan with 206 yards on nine grabs
Concord (2021 Fall) - Fr.
  • Started four games before season-ending injury
  • Produced 28 catches, 427 receiving yards and one touchdown
  • Had 15 catches for 204 yards and one TD in season opener at Glenville State
  • Recorded 104 receiving yards on seven catches against Frostburg State
  • Caught two passes for 79 receiving yards at Fairmont State
Concord (2021 Spring) - COVID
  • Made one appearance during COVID shortened season
  • Had seven catches for 57 yards and two touchdowns at West Virginia Wesleyan in lone appearance 
High School
  • Attended Martinsburg High School in Martinsburg, W.Va.
  • Named to 2019 Class AAA All-State First Team
  • MetroNews Player of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to a 14-0 season and the Class AAA state championship
  • Finished his senior year with 44 catches for 1,082 yards and 18 touchdowns, while earning All-Eastern Panhandle honors
