Brandon Smith

Brandon Smith enters his fourth year on the sidelines for the Pioneer basketball team.

The Sandusky, Ohio native played at West Liberty University from 2013 to 2017. During his time at WLU, he posted 13 career double-doubles to go along with just over 700 career points. 

In his senior year, Smith started seven games while averaging 12.3 minutes per game. He shot 50% from the floor and 37% from deep. 

Also while at West Liberty, Brandon has won three MEC Regular Season Championships, one MEC Tournament Championship, four NCAA Tournament appearances, and two Elite Eight appearances. 

Before college, Brandon was a First-Team All-Northwest Ohio standout at Perkins High School. He scored 1,100 points while averaging 17.5 ppg and 7.3 rpg. Smith also received All-Conference and All-Northwest Ohio football honors as a quarterback. 

In 2018-19, he served as an Assistant Coach for the Fairmont State University Fighting Falcons. In that season, FSU went 22-9 and 18-4 in the MEC and also earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament. 

He graduated from West Liberty with a degree in Sports Management and is the son of Brian and Lisa Smith.
