Myers was a graduate of a fellow Mountain East Conference member at West Liberty University. During his time at West Liberty, Myers had a successful wrestling career for the Hilltoppers.

"Through commitment, hard work, and dedication I will lead these athletes to becoming Champions, the Pioneer Way.”

"We are very excited to have Coach Myers in our department," Athletic Director Jesse Skiles said. "He has already made a difference for our programs, and we are very excited for what the future holds for Coach Myers and our programs."
