Michael Clay

Micheal Clay enters his first season as Co-Head Coach of the Glenville State Track & Field programs. 2026-27 marks Clay's third season on staff after serving two seasons as a graduate assistant.

Clay coached jumps and javelin in 2025-26, where he mentored Carson Smith and Ian Strader to No. 1 and No. 2 finishes in the MEC outdoor championships and Chase Livengood to 5th place finishes in the long jump at both conference championships. 

Clay graduated from Glenville State University in 2024 with a Bachelor's of Science in Health and Human Performance. During his time on the track and field team at Glenville State, Clay was a three-time conference qualifier in javelin, two-time conference qualifier in hammer and discus, and on the Mountain East Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll. 

Clay is from Danville, W.Va where he attended Scott High School. He graduated from Scott in 2021.
