Jarrod West enters his second season as an Assistant Coach for the Glenville State Women's Basketball program in 2026-27.
In West's first season on the sidelines, GSU had their best season under Emily Stoller in 2025-26, going (24-7) overall and (16-4) in MEC play to capture the MEC Regular Season championship. The Lady Pioneers made their second straight appearance in the MEC Tournament championship game and punched their ticket to the NCAA DII Atlantic Regional Tournament as an at-large team. Transfer Carine Pinkney was an All-MEC First Team selection while Nwando Okigbo and Khalia Bryant were named to the All-MEC Second Team. The Lady Pioneers were fourth in the country in PPG (84.1), fifth in three-pointers per game (9.0), fourth in bench points per game (32.7) and fifth in turnovers forced per game (26.1).
West joined the staff after a very successful stint as the Head Boy's Basketball Coach at Notre Dame High School in Clarksburg, W.Va., which included a state championship in 2017.
"I am very excited and appreciative for the opportunity to coach at this level. It's been a dream and goal of mine since I began coaching 20 years ago. I want to thank Coach Stoller and Glenville State for the opportunity," said West.
During his playing time, West was a four-time All-State selection at Cathedral High School in Natchez, Miss. with 2,489 career points and an astounding 33 PPG his senior year. He went on to play at West Virginia University from 1994-1998 for head coach Gale Catlett, where West averaged 10.6 PPG, five assists and two steals his senior year to help lead the Mountaineers to the Sweet 16. He was also a four-year letterman and team captain for WVU in 1997-98, graduating with a Bachelor's in Sports Management.
