Glenville State University Athletics

Coach Bill Lilly brings an amazing volume of institutional knowledge to Glenville. His forty-plus years of college coaching provides GSU with an infinite amount of experience in both college athletics and NCAA Compliance. 

Lilly serves Glenville in three different roles, Assistant Basketball Coach, Director of Golf Operations, and Assistant Director of Compliance. Lilly is the son of Jesse Lilly, a Glenville State Hall of Fame coach who is the school's second all-time winningest coach.

Lilly graduated from Gilmer County High School in 1978, and from Glenville State in 1982 where he played on the Pioneer basketball team. Lilly spent several years as an assistant coach at Glenville, then 15 years as an assistant coach at Radford University. He followed the Radford stint, earning the role of Director of Basketball Operations at West Virginia University.

Lilly served as head coach at West Virginia Wesleyan for five years, before returning to Glenville State in 2011.

"Bill has been a friend of mine for 40 years now, he is a diligent worker, and he loves Glenville," Athletic Director Jesse Skiles said. "We use him in several roles here, and he is a very valuable part of this Department."

Lilly and his wife Jenny live in Buckhannon. They have two children: Dawson (22) and Landon (20).
