Jacob Roser was named the Defensive Backs Coach with the Glenville State Football program in January of 2026. He is entering his first season with the Pioneers in 2026.
Â
Roser, who most recently worked at West Virginia as a Defensive Assistant, comes to Glenville State with years of Division I coaching experience. While at WVU, Roser worked primarily with the cornerbacks in 2025.
Â
"We are excited to welcome Jacob to Glenville," said Casteel. "He has coached at every level and will bring a lot of enthusiasm and knowledge to the secondary."
Â
Roser had worked under former Glenville State and current WVU head coach Rich Rodriguez before, as Roser was a Defensive Graduate Assistant at Jacksonville State in 2024. That Jax State squad went on to win the Conference USA championship with a (9-5) overall record and (7-1) conference mark.
Â
He got his collegiate coaching start at FCS Rhode Island as an Offensive Quality Control Coach in 2023. During the '23 campaign, URI went (6-5, 4-4 CAA) with a highlighted 34-28 overtime victory over No. 20 New Hampshire.
Â
Roser shared his eagerness - "I'm very excited for the opportunity to join the staff here at Glenville State. We're going to continue to build something special."
Â
He played college football at Geneva College in Pennsylvania from 2018-21, where he was coached by former WVU cornerback Brandon Napoleon.
