Taylor Broadwater enters her fourth season as the Head Coach for the Glenville State Acrobatics & Tumbling program in 2026.

Broadwater led the Pioneers to their most historic season to date in 2025, going (8-3) overall and (5-1) in league play. Their eight overall victories and five conference victories set a program record in both categories. GSU advanced to the MEC Tournament Championship and captured four MEC Event Championships, while also sending Five-Element Acro & Inversion Pyramid to NCATA Nationals. Payten Semenske was named MEC Specialist of the Year and Aubrey Ward earned MEC & NCATA DII Freshman of the Year honors. In addition, Savannah Duckworth was an NCATA All-American, the first under Broadwater's tutelage.

The 2024 season was annother historic year for Broadwater and the Pioneers, going (6-4) overall and (4-2) in the MEC. The six overall victories tied the single-season record at GSU while the four conference wins was a new single-season program record. Broadwater led the Pioneers to their second-consecutive MEC Tournament appearance and won three MEC Event Championships. Of those three, two qualified for the NCATA Nationals. Four athletes earned All-MEC honors with Madisyn Hahn, Payten Semenske and Savannah Duckworth taking All-MEC First Team and Emilia Underwood landing on the Second Team.

In her first season at Glenville, the team had returned to heights that the program has not seen in years. During the 2023 campaign, the Lady Pioneers posted a record of (5-4). GSU opened the season with a 257.130 which was the highest opening performance since 2019. Under Broadwater, Glenville reached the MEC Tournament for the first time since 2021, and sent a group to nationals. The Lady Pioneers, in the dual against Davis and Elkins College, posted a 261.740 which was the third-highest score in school history.

Before arriving to Glenville, Taylor had served as an assistant coach at West Virginia Wesleyan for two seasons before being named interim head coach. During her time as an assistant, three student-athletes were named to All-MEC Teams.

The program would take a massive leap when she was appointed interim head coach. During the 2022 campaign, the Bobcats had three All-MEC selections, and two athletes named MEC Athlete of the Week. Wesleyan in the postseason secured two individual MEC Championships in the 450 Salto Toss and the Synchronized Pyramid. The 450 Salto Toss group qualified for the NCATA National Championships for the first time in the program's history.

Before becoming a coach, Broadwater competed in the inaugural program here at Glenville State. Her time as a student-athlete proved to be successful as she qualified for nationals in three separate seasons, won the NCATA National Title in the Open Pyramid, helped score the first 10.0 in school and MEC history in the Open Pyramid, and won two individual conference championships.

Taylor is a native of Vienna, W.Va., and graduated from Glenville State University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in Biology.
