Willie Furr enters his fourth year as the Game Day Administrator in the Glenville State Athletic Administration. He is also in his second year as the Assistant Athletic Director.Â
After working for 21 years as a Regional Manager for General Nutrition Centers (GNC), the Gilmer County native returned to his hometown of Glenville in 2022.
Furr is a graduate of Gilmer County High School. He attended Alderson Broaddus in the 1980's and served as an Assistant Basketball Coach for the Battlers for six years. He followed his stint in Philippi by serving as an Assistant for five years at Glenville under Hall of Fame coach Gary Nottingham. He also coached track and cross country for the Pioneers.Â
"Willie Furr is a great hire for our Department," Athletic Director Jesse Skiles said. "He is great with the community and has a love for college athletics."
Furr has two children; Madisyn (26) and Jagger (23).Â
