Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers earned their ninth straight win on Tuesday and extended their home win streak to 16 straight, which dates back to last season, as they defeated the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith 104-87.

Glenville State (10-1) got a great performance from Paris McLeod as she scored over 30 points while Johnson C. Smith (9-4) had five players score in double figures.

The Lady Pioneers jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter at the 8:40 minute mark however the Golden Bulls pulled within one point, 15-14, with 3:11 to play in the quarter. GSC then outscored JCSU 11-3 in the quarter as they held a 26-17 lead after one.

In the second quarter it was all GSC as they outscored the Golden Bulls 38 to 23 and never looked back. Glenville State held a 24 point lead at halftime 64-40.

Glenville State won the third quarter outscoring Johnson C. Smith 21-18. The Lady Pioneers largest lead also came in third at the 4:06 minute mark as they lead by 37 points at 81-44.

Johnson C. Smith outscored GSC in the fourth quarter 29-19 but the Lady Pioneers still went onto win by 17 points, 104-87.

The Lady Pioneers never trailed in the contest.

Glenville State shot 48 percent from the floor and 34 percent from behind the three-point line while Johnson C. Smith shot 46 percent from the field and 25 percent from deep.

The Lady Pioneers won the rebounding battle as they out rebounded the Golden Bulls by seven, 45 to 38. GSC also had a slight advantage in the paint outscoring JCSU 59-54. Â

Paris McLeod had a great day as she scored 31 points, her fourth time scoring over 30 points in her career, to go along with a game high four assists and five rebounds. Kristin DesRocher chipped in with 13 points as she hit 3-of-5 three-pointers on the day and Bhrea Griffin scored 10 points in the win.

Courtney Davis grabbed a game high seven rebounds to go with eight points.

Johnson C. Smith was led by Kendall Adams and Jasmine Carter as they each had 13 points while JaKeyah McNeil and Monique Hall had 12 points. La'Zarea Bowens chipped in with 10 points for JCSU.

Glenville State (10-1) will not return to action till after the New Year on Thursday, January 4
th as they return to conference play hosting Notre Dame College at 5:30 p.m. from the Waco Center.Â
