Volleyball Falls to Michigan Tech and Hillsdale

Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC Lady Pioneer volleyball team fell to Michigan Tech in their first matchup on Saturday at the Hillsdale Tournament.

Michigan Tech would control the first set as they took it 25-15. Tech had 12 kills to GSC's five while the Lady Pioneers also committed 11 errors in set one.

Glenville State would drop the second set 25-10 and Michigan Tech took the third set 25-13 as they beat GSC 3-0.

The Lady Pioneers had 15 total kills in the contest while Michigan Tech finished with 40 kills. GSC had a tough day with errors as they committed 23 in the game while Tech only committed 10.

Bailey Hanson led GSC with four kills with Haley Wolff chipping in with three. Ai Miyazaki had two serve aces in the contest to go along with five digs. Madison Gargus led the team in assists with eight.

Glenville State's second game of the day saw them matched up with Hillsdale College, the host of the tournament.

The Lady Pioneers fell in the first set 25-21 despite having just seven kills in the set while Hillsdale finished with 15 kills. Hillsdale took the second set 25-15 and the third set 25-16 as they defeated GSC, 3-0.

Haley Wolff and Bailey Brawner each had six kills in the contest while Madison Gargus led the team in assists with 18. Haley Wolff had nine digs while Ai Miyazaki finished with eight.

Glenville State (0-4) will return to action next weekend on Friday, September 8th and Saturday, September 9th in the Gannon/Mercyhurst Tournament.
